Vegan MoFo Begins!

Today marks the first day of VeganMoFo!

Just look at the cute little Sweet Dumpling Squash up there, waiting patiently to be stuffed and blogged about….

I am pumped this year, which will be year 2 for Manifest Vegan.  Last year VeganMoFo took place during the month of October, and I was a brand new blogger with only about 7 days of experience under my belt when I signed up. It was insane.

Or I was insane… whatever.

Last year, blogging every single weekday kicked my butt! In the most loving way possible, of course. Soooo, let’s do it all over again… shall we?

Right now there are over 500 blogs signed up to post all month long about nothing but vegan food! Hellz yeah! My feedreader is already brimming with posts from folks getting their mofo on…  check out this year’s list!

I’ll be posting every single weekday: some recipes here, a little giveaway there, a few food related product reviews, and maybe some random pictures of my cat eating broccoli. Who knows!

It’s going to be awesome!

Plus, November holds all kinds fun reasons for food bloggin':

  • World Vegan Day ( today!!)
  • November is National Peanut Butter Lovers Month
  • Thanksgiving
  • World Peace Day
  • My Birthday – which also happens to be Absurdity Day and Universal Children’s Day (I feel blessed!)
  • 30 days of cold – which is a darn good reason to eat more soup and a darn good reason for me to make up some more soup recipes
  • National Clean out Your Refrigerator Day
  • Nog… Nog and more Nog
  • Start Your Own Country Day
  • and most importantly…. Winter Squash!

    I can’t believe your birthday is on “Absuridity Day.” Where do they come up with these things. I’d like to start with a big bowl of soup with side dishes of the other items while I plan to start my own country. Our national flag will be a depiction of your cat eating broccoli.

I was already excited about a month of vegan food, but now you tell me it’s National Peanut Butter Lover’s Month AND we both have birthdays in November?! AND Thanksgiving?!     I’m stoked for a whole month of Manifest Vegan, I love your blog! Also, how great that your birthday is “Absurdity Day!” ha ha. I love those little “special days,” though “National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day” is long overdue.

      I think it’s great that my birthday is the same day as Absurdity Day- I’m sure my mom would not be surprised! :D

      I’m long overdue for the “clean out your refrigerator” day too! Although, I find it fitting that it’s a holiday held only once a year!!

    Ooooh i’m so excited for vegan mofo, but i’m scrambled at the same time not knowing exactly what to do. I’m a recent blogger(really recent) and new to mofo this year.

    That potato soup looks delicious! well they all do, but I have a love for potato soup.

    P.s. I didn’t know about national peanut butter month either.

      awesome Brandi! Last year, I just “threw myself into the fire”, so to speak, and it worked out really well! Most days, I had no clue what I would be blogging about until I had the post written out ;) I am sure, no matter what you do- you will leave MoFo being inspired :) Best wishes on your Vegan MoFo adventure!

    Pre-gluten days or not! Those recipes look so good! Do you have every blog on a separate feed or on Google Reader? I need a simpler way of checking who is posting consistenly. Thanks!

      I have a ton of blogs on my google reader- and many are coming out of the woodwork for this year’s MoFo; however, I definitely do not have them ALL on there!
      I keep the VeganMoFo headquarters blog on my feedreader- (and check back often for reference of new blogs to follow) they do an amazing job of recapping all days MoFo! So happy you are participating this year, Noelle!

    yay! and since you posted the latkes, could you just substitute the flour with a gf flour, like chickpea, to make it gf- or would it be more complicated than that?
