‘Teff Love’

Teff Love_

Teff Love is Kittee Berns‘ debut cookbook, which is a collection of fabulous and flavorful Ethiopian dishes (her specialty). Kittee’s known for her delicious Ethiopian eats and Teff Love doesn’t disappoint. What I love best about this book, aside from the fun layout, is Kittee’s teaching style: she includes clear and concise instructions that make these recipes practically foolproof; and even if you do mess something up, there are many troubleshooting tips throughout. Truly a great addition to any cookbook collection–especially if you love Ethiopian food, but don’t love relying on eating out to satisfy your cravings.

When I got the book, the first recipe that caught my eye was the Sambusas. Crispy, crunchy, lightly spiced chickpea pockets filled to the brim with, well, really whatever you want. I went with Kittee’s suggestion in the book and used the Lentil Sambusa Filling. She also recommends a variation using her Ethiopian-Style Mac ‘n’ Cheesie for the filling… pretty sure I’ll be trying that next!

Here’s the easy recipe for the Ye’difin Missir Sambusas straight from the pages of Teff Love. Go get yourself a copy and add a little Ethiopian spice to your life.
